In 2006, there were, conservatively, more than 290 million patient visits to U.S. healthcare facilities for common illnesses of the types that can be readily accommodated by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in Access Clinics. This number, which will surely grow with the aging population, does not include the additional millions of individuals who have been forgoing treatment of their common ailments because they couldn’t afford it, didn’t have convenient access to it, or would not tolerate the long waits for service at traditional healthcare facilities. Unfortunately, such failure to obtain timely treatment often leads to more serious, costly illnesses and additional burdens on the healthcare system.
Access Health Network places a high emphasis on quality of care. Our Nurse Practitioners are highly-educated, thoroughly experienced healthcare providers licensed to both diagnose ailments and prescribe medication. Access Health Network meets or exceeds all the standards set forth by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Our goal is to create a formal connection with physician practices in the local community, preferably with family physicians, to provide continuity of care. We only operate in accordance with state and local regulations, as part of a “team-based” approach to health care and under responsible supervision of a practicing, licensed physician. |
